Role Included:

  • Creating weapon, environment, and character designs from concept to game-ready assets. 

  • Enemy animations, including idle walk, attack, and damage. 

  • User interface design, asset creation, and implementation

  • 3D-asset development and texture editing.

  • Team supervision - directing the creation of 2D and 3D assets.

  • Illustration and webpage design

Project Type: Game Ready Character Asset | Character Art Challenge 2024

Theme: Neonpunk

Programs Used: Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Unreal Engine 5

 

This character concept is inspired by primarily 90s riotgrrrl and punk feminist culture, with some minor cyberpunk elements. On her days off from work, you might be able to catch her skating around the cyberpunk city of R.K. BASILISKIA with her decorated star-shaped bag, DIY-spiked boots, and patchwork sewn babydoll dress.

Project Included

  • 3D modelling, texturing, and rigging of character

  • Character posing and rendering

  • Character & camera animation

  • Scene lighting and composition, creating other visual assets to aid the final piece.

“On one hand, you can magnetise objects and repulse your enemies, and on the other, you can beat the living shit out of them. Choice is yours. What do I prefer? Anything that can put them six-feet under”

A third-person hack-and-slash game for PC and Console focused on smooth and stylish combat. As Kaila, players utilise the magnets of two weaponized gauntlets to navigate a vibrant scrapyard city inspired by the fusion of the Australian Outback and the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

 

The games overall aesthetic takes heavy inspiration from anime produced by Studio Trigger, and cell-shaded action games such as Hi-Fi Rush and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk.

Role Included:

  • Creating character concepts and designs, including the protagonist and other non-playable characters.

  • Modelling three separate character models, textured and partially rigged.

  • Environment visual development, including photo-bashing, thumb-nailing. 

  • User interface design, from concept to game-ready assets, including logo, health bars, etc.

Major Game Art Project

Project Type: Game | University Major Project

Resources Used: Watercolour pigments, paper, lead pencil, fine liners

Programs Used: Adobe Photoshop, Figma, Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects.

Game art created for a 2.5D pop-up book-inspired fantasy roguelike, inspired by the original Brothers Grimm fairytale Little Red Riding Hood. Using the prompts roguelike, mysterious, fantasy, forest, and stylized to create an aesthetic driven by almost-wholesome cuteness in a game with dark narrative tones. Hugely inspired by games and other media such as Cult of The Lamb, Don't Starve, Animal Crossing, and Adventure Time. 

Project Included:

  • Designing 5 separate seasonal areas, including foliage, blockages, backdrop, interactables, and multiway platforms

  • Designing the main, supporting, and enemy characters and their alternate forms.

  • Working within the boundaries of watercolour art and experimenting with different textures and a limited pigment palette.

  • Post-processing of physical work for digital cleanup and adding extra details

  • Long-term time management and project documentation

  • Exporting to digital format for video creation
